During this month, I spent some time near Antibes, enjoying some sunshine (so lacking in England this year…). Images of some of my work will appear on the site as soon as I take some photographs..
August 2006
This August, I participated in the 2007 Guildford Calendar competition. The them was " a recognisable landmark or landscape in the Borough of Guildford or the Surrey Hills AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty)". Since Guildford is the nearest large town to me, and the Surrey Hills are one of my favourite parts of England, I had to have a go.
Well, the competition was judged on August 4th, and, sadly for me, I didn't win, which means my painting will not be gracing the 2007 Calendar. The judges said that my painting was not of a recognisable landscape, with which I have to concur. Oh well, better luck next year.

May 2006
It's been a while, but I now have over thirty new paintings to display, and many of these will be appearing over the next few weeks on the website. Most of the new work is in acrylic, but there are a few watercolours and charcoal drawings as well. I also plan to have another exhibition in the Surrey/Sussex area, so keep watching.
In January and February, I spent a week in Venice, and produced some watercolur sketches and charcoal studies of the Grand Canal, some of the lesser known areas, and Murano.
In May 2006, I spent two weeks in the Aeolian islands, and painted over 20 small studies in acrylic. Since my return, I have been developing some sketches into full-size paintings. Both the large and small will appear on the website as and when I can find time to photograph them. Some of them will also be available as Limited Edition prints.

September 2004
During August, I spent a very enjoyable week at West Dean College, at the Slade Summer School. Under the inspirational guidance of tutors Jo Volley and Ed Winter, I explored new techniques and materials. You can see some of the results in the 'New this month' and 'Featured Work' galleries.

Another major face-lift of the site, with several new features, including:
* Customers outside the UK can now see the price of any picture, (original, print, or photograph), before they order, and can place orders using PayPal's secure payment system.
* Customers can now purchase in several currencies:
- US Dollars $
- Canadian Dollars $CA
Japanese Yen ¥
- Euro €, and
- UK Pounds £
* You can now preview a selection of different frame and mount styles on screen, to see which style suits the painting, (and your décor!).

April 2004
This month, the web site has been given a face-lift, with new menus, and many new features, including the Painting Chooser: - use this to choose paintings by style, colour, genre, etc.
I have also spent some time giving some background information about my work, which I hope you will find useful, as well as more details about my forthcoming one-man exhibition in Haslemere.
